Harsha is a person that you can listen to all day long. And mind you, he is not as comfortable in Hindi/Urdu as he is in English, still he spoke so well. Thats why I think, the thought process & ideas matter more than the command over a language.

I heard Harsha in audio during that 91-92 India tour of Australia and immediately knew there is something about him. We grew up on radio commentary of pretty much every major sport and I practically acquired knowledge of some games even before watching one, thanks to BBC Saturday Specials and it’s Anchor Paddy Finney. Harsha is primarily a scholar and quietly managerial with his IIT Ahmedabad background. Early in his TV commentary career I happened to meet him at Delhi Airport and flew down to Bhubaneshwar alongside him. I had a long conversation with him all the way as I asked him about that Australia tour and his transition to television. His answers then pretty much expands into what he tells Sawera here. But I’d like to point one thing out to Harsha here, Radio Australia acquired Indian commentator VM Chakrapani and retained him for more than a decade. So it’s not entirely correct to say that Austrslians were not aware of Indian accent and imagination. Another commentator had gone to Australia for the 1985-86 India tour, a Bengali gentleman whose name I’m unable to recollect, who did the entire series there. And yes, Harsha is lucky as today it’s impossible for a cricketing outsider to get into live commentary. And to Sawera I shall say that my generation of Indian cricket lovers used to be as fund of Pakistani Batsmen as anyone else. From Mohammed Brothers to Zaheer Abbas, Majid Khan, Asif Iqbal or Washington Raja- they were our particular favourites. Javed Miandad changed it all not solely because of that six in Sharjah but because he was blatantly protected by Pakistani Umpires at home. Nevertheless I love his gutsy batsmanship. Pakistani Cricketers are loved as much in India as in Pakistan.

Absolutely agree with harsha bhogle,todays test players are as good if not better than earlier players.earlier bowlers relied on reverse swing owing to ball tampering which wont be possible in todays odi due to 2 balls and cameras due to which it will be impossible to tamper with the ball.thats why jasprit bumrah is as good as wasim akram because reverse swing will not be a play today.

Cricket commentators should also have a retirement age,these oldies have formed a mafia and dont let newbies to join the club of commentators.this needs to stop .they should all retire after 60 years mandatory.

Probably one of the best vlogs of yours, keep going and words cannot express how ease it is when Harsha does commentary. Every single word that he utters has a significance the guy is not fluke but a thorough professional and a dictionary of cricket knowledge...Hats off

Jitani meri malumat hai Hasrh Bhogale Bharat ki chaar language jaante hai. Marathi to unaki matrubhasha hai usake alava unaka residecial metro city Hydrabad to Telagu our national language Hindi our English to sab jante hi hai. Duniya ki baki bhi jubane aati hogi. Lekin sabase baDi bat ye hai ke Harsha IIT jaise dream institution se Btech hai our IIM jaha admition sapane jaisa vaha se MBA kiya our kar kya rahe commentry. Kamal hai. Sundar pichai bhi IIT se graduate hai. Yaha nahi hote to shayad baDe compnay me CEO hote bas fame nahi hota .
